{"id":1032205,"date":"2026-03-10T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"trans-27323-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infoans.news\/en\/trans-27323-1\/","title":{"rendered":"South Sudan \u2013 Trauma healing sessions for internally displaced persons and the Gumbo parish community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>(ANS &ndash; Gumbo) <\/strong>&ndash; On 9 March 2026, the Salesians of Don Bosco&#8217;s St Vincent de Paul parish in Gumbo launched a six-month cycle of trauma healing sessions, bringing together more than 300 participants from both Don Bosco&#8217;s internally displaced community and the host parish community. The participants&#8217; involvement demonstrates their desire for healing, reconciliation and unity. Fr David Tuli SDB, Rector and parish priest, thanks to his leadership skills, has initiated the process of healing people&#8217;s unhealed wounds and traumatised dark sides.&nbsp;The sessions create a safe and welcoming atmosphere in which participants can share their untold experiences, express their pain and listen to each other with respect and understanding. This process helps to reduce fear and mistrust, fostering empathy and mutual respect between the different ethnic communities displaced by the ongoing conflicts. Through trauma healing, participants are encouraged to forgive, grow in emotional strength and promote peaceful coexistence.
