(ANS – Hubli) –<\/strong> International Women’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and commitment at the Don Bosco Academy in Sutgatti, Hubli, bringing together 330 women from self-help groups in the districts of Hubli and Dharwad, along with participants from Honnihalli, Belagavi. The event fostered a spirit of joy, reflection and empowerment, highlighting the dignity, contributions and rights of women in society. Among those present were the Rector of Don Bosco Academy, Fr Lionel Braganza; the Head of the Social Commission of the Salesian Province of India-Panjim (INP), Fr Santaremnd Lopes; the Project Manager of the DSV Company in Belagavi, Mr Chandrasekar; and Sr Veronica UFS, a lawyer. One of the highlights of the programme was an awareness-raising session led by Sr Veronica, UFS, who spoke about women’s rights and dignity. She emphasised the importance of recognising the intrinsic value of every woman and urged the participants to be aware of their legal rights; she encouraged them to stand up against injustices and to show solidarity with one another in order to build a fairer and more respectful society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
