The first session of the assembly was held from 13 to 15 April 2026, bringing together rectors of Salesian communities, commission heads, sector leaders, and representatives from various presences. However, due to the depth of discussions and the need for further discernment, the assembly was not concluded during these initial days.<\/p>\n
In response, participants agreed to reconvene on 29 April 2026, to finalise the resolutions and ensure a more comprehensive and unified direction for the province. This additional session allowed for deeper dialogue, clarification of priorities, and consensus-building among the participants.<\/p>\n
The assembly was moderated by Fr Placido Freitas, SDB, who guided the process clearly and attentively, ensuring that all voices were heard and that discussions remained focused on the mission and spirit of the Salesian charism.<\/p>\n
Throughout the assembly, participants engaged in meaningful exchanges on how best to implement the key themes of General Chapter 29 within the context of Timor-Leste. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening community life, enhancing youth ministry, fostering vocational accompaniment, and promoting greater collaboration among Salesian communities.<\/p>\n
The final session on April 29 culminated in the formulation of concrete resolutions and action points that will guide the Vice Province in the coming years. These outcomes reflect a shared commitment to renew the Salesian mission in fidelity to the Church and in service of the young, especially those most in need.<\/p>\n
The Provincial Assembly stands as a significant step forward in aligning the local mission with the global vision of the Salesian Congregation, reinforcing unity, participation, and pastoral dynamism across Timor-Leste.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
