(ANS – Borgomanero) – <\/strong>On Wednesday 27 May 2026 at 6.00 pm, the Don Bosco Theatre in Borgomanero welcomed Pippo Ricci, captain of Olimpia Milano and the Italian national basketball team, for a meeting dedicated to the presentation of his latest book “I Wanted to Be Robin. My Journey So Far”. The event, open to students, families and the local community, provided an important opportunity for dialogue on the themes of sport, personal growth and the educational value of sporting experience. In the theatre packed with sports enthusiasts and basketball fans, the team of sixth-formers – and athletes from Don Bosco College – interviewed the Olimpia Basket captain at length, tracing his life from his youth in Chieti right up to the national team. They discussed how to recover from difficulties, setbacks, defeats and disappointments through commitment and constant hard work. Training the body, which is essential in sport, alongside the mind to always maintain a sense of perspective. The importance of training and the value of loyalty within the team and amongst friends were the aspects most emphasised by Ricci. At the end of the event, after the book-signing, the participants moved outside from the theatre for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the basketball court built at Don Bosco thanks in part to a contribution from the Fondazione Cariplo (the ‘Emblematico Luoghi per crescere’ project).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
