{"id":1036630,"date":"2026-06-03T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"trans-28232-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infoans.news\/en\/trans-28232-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethiopia \u2013 Meeting of the World Presidency of Don Bosco\u2019s Past Pupils and Friends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>(ANS &ndash; Addis Ababa) &ndash;<\/strong> The meeting of the World Presidency of the Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco began on 3 June 2026 at the House of the Salesian Province of Africa Ethiopia-Eritrea (AET), coordinated by the President of the World Confederation of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco, Bryan Magro. Also attending the event were the World Delegate of the Past Pupils, Br Dominic Duc Nam, SDB; Peter Kovac, Secretary General; Valerio Martorana, Regional Representative for Europe and the Middle East; Balthazar Maniratunga, Regional Representative for Africa; Alessandro Pensabene, Regional Representative for Young People in Europe and the Middle East; and Joseph Ssemambo, Regional Representative for Young People in Africa. The meeting was organised by the President of the National Federation of Ethiopia, Haftom Hailu. &ldquo;The World Confederation cannot truly be called such without Africa, and today we celebrate the realisation of this dream,&rdquo; emphasised Bryan Magro. &ldquo;Together we can achieve more than we have in recent years: we can grow and offer a better future to the children and young people of Africa.&rdquo; At the start of the proceedings, the World Presidency discussed the status of the strategic plan&rsquo;s implementation and the organisation of the next General Assembly, to be held in Turin in 2027; attention was given to the launch of the Secretariat across the four continents; the situation in each Region; and potential new prospective members who have applied to join the Confederation. It was also emphasised how the Confederation has grown considerably over the past four years, particularly in Africa, Asia and the Americas.
