The newly appointed principal of DBTC, Fr. John Richard SDB, shared a look back at the academic year 2025–2026, highlighting the growth and progress of the institution. The Provincial then gave a special address, encouraging the students to remain intellectually curious, love learning, and always seek wisdom in their theological studies.<\/p>\n
Setting an inspiring tone for the coming months, the new Principal, Fr. John Richard, delivered the year’s inaugural academic lecture, on the topic “God in the Differences: A Comparative Study of the Hebrew and the Greek Bible in the Book of Habakkuk.”<\/p>\n
After the lecture, the Provincial officially released the Academic Calendar of 2026-2027, presenting the copies to the residential professors. It was also an occasion to welcome the new faculty team. The community warmly introduced and honoured the new Principal (Fr. John Richard), the new Registrar (Fr. Lourdusamy), the new Librarian (Fr. Stanley), the new Dean (Fr. Christopher), new vice Rector and Administrator (Fr. Antony Sebastian) and all the professors of the new academic year.<\/p>\n
After the inaugural ceremony, eight graduating students—who had successfully completed their Baccalaureate degree in Sacred Theology—marched into the hall alongside the Moderator, Principal, and Registrar to receive their B.Th. and Diploma of Pastoral Year certificates and medals. Fr. Provincial proudly presented each graduate with their degree certificate, applauding their hard work. Among them, Fr. Clement SDB received the first rank medal.<\/p>\n
The program also included a warm welcome to the incoming batch of first-year students as they begin their theological journey at DBTC. The memorable day ended with a hymn dedicated to St. John Bosco, leaving everyone inspired and ready for a wonderful year ahead.<\/p>\n
