The opening ceremony was also attended by the Superior of the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians in São Paulo Brazil (BSP), Fr Alexandre Luís de Oliveira, who emphasised the importance of preserving memory, stories and everything capable of recording the passage of time, highlighting how coins have become witnesses to historical processes and expressions of peoples’ identities.<\/p>\n

Also present at the event was the Provincial Economer, Fr André Luiz Simões, who emphasised the importance of the initiative for the promotion of historical and cultural heritage, reinforcing the Salesian commitment to education, culture and the preservation of memory. On this occasion, special thanks were extended to the Rector of the Liceu Coração de Jesus<\/em> Complex, Fr Cássio Rodrigo de Oliveira, for supporting the exhibition.<\/p>\n

The opening was presided over by the Director of MOSB, Marcos de Lima de Oliveira, who, together with the Provincial and the Provincial Economer cut the ribbon, officially marking the start of the exhibition.<\/p>\n

The exhibition forms part of the MOSB’s Annual Activity Plan (Pronac 247537) and has been made possible through the Federal Law for the Encouragement of Culture (Rouanet Law), with the sponsorship of Banco Safra, the organisation of the Salesian Museum in Brazil and the Salesians of Don Bosco, and the support of São Paulo City Council and the Federal Government’s Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is now open to visitors and invites the public to discover how coins can preserve memories, represent cultures and narrate important chapters in the history of Brazil and the world.<\/p>\n
