{"id":6028727,"date":"2026-07-07T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2026-07-07T22:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T22:00:00","slug":"democratic-republic-of-the-congo-a-formation-session-for-directors-of-leisure-centres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infoans.news\/en\/democratic-republic-of-the-congo-a-formation-session-for-directors-of-leisure-centres\/","title":{"rendered":"Democratic Republic of the Congo \u2013 A formation session for directors of leisure centres"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>(ANS &ndash; Goma)<\/strong> &ndash; A formation session for the directors of the <em>plaines de jeux<\/em>, or leisure centres, of the St Joseph Delegation of Central-Eastern Africa (AFC-EST) took place from 25 to 28 June 2026 at the Don Bosco Ngangi Salesian community in Goma, in preparation for the summer camps and summer activities for young people. The initiative, supported financially by the VIS NGO, brought together around 120 young people from the Salesian centres in Shasha, Boscolac, ITIG and Ngangi.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The opening session was presided over by Fr Dieudonn&eacute; Sande, delegate for Salesian youth ministry for the AFC-EST Delegation, who invited the participants to experience these days as an opportunity for human, Christian and communal growth. The theme of the meeting was: &ldquo;<em>Young people, in a synodal spirit, let us do whatever he tells us to build lasting peace and cohesion<\/em>&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>During the programme, which alternated between prayer, teachings, workshops and moments of fellowship, six training modules were presented. Fr Delphin Muhindo presented the profile of the director as an educator and guide, emphasising qualities such as responsibility, self-control, listening, team spirit and witness to the faith. Fr Pascal Mumbakati, meanwhile, explained Don Bosco&rsquo;s Preventive System, highlighting its three pillars: reason, religion and loving-kindness.<\/p>\n<p>The formation also included a first-aid module led by Dieudonn&eacute; Kibinda, a reflection on catechesis presented by Fr Adrien Ansima, craft workshops led by Sister Carole and Sister Pierrette, and an in-depth study of child and adolescent psychology, led by Madame Dorcas.<\/p>\n<p>The session concluded on Sunday 28 June with a Eucharistic celebration of thanksgiving presided over by Fr Gauthier Tshibangu, Provincial Delegate of the St Joseph Delegation. In his homily, the celebrant urged the young leaders to place God at the centre of their educational service and to be witnesses to the Gospel amongst the children entrusted to their care.<\/p>\n<p>Before the official closing, the participants tidied up the activity areas, giving concrete expression to the spirit of service they had lived out during the formation.
