Los estudiantes de la Escuela Salesiana Don Bosco de Alicante en tres a&ntilde;os ya han plantado m&aacute;s de cuatrocientos &aacute;rboles en el cerro de Mar&iacute;a Auxiliadora. Los estudiantes han promovido una iniciativa que tiene como objetivo crear un bosque urbano en respuesta a los eventos meteorol&oacute;gicos extremos asociados al calentamiento global. Esta actividad forma parte del proyecto de aprendizaje y servicio \u00abSalva la atm&oacute;sfera\u00bb, desarrollado en el marco del primer a&ntilde;o del curso de Biolog&iacute;a y Geolog&iacute;a de la Educaci&oacute;n Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO) y realizado anualmente con el apoyo de la Concejal&iacute;a de Parques y Jardines del Ayuntamiento de Alicante. Con la ayuda de la Asociaci&oacute;n de Familias de Alumnos (AFA) y de la comunidad escolar, se adquirieron plantones de diversas especies en riesgo de extinci&oacute;n integradas con olivos, almendros, algarrobos, higueras y granados: especies que favorecer&aacute;n tambi&eacute;n a la fauna.
