Parmi les autres institutions participantes figurent &laquo;&nbsp;Help Earth&nbsp;&raquo;, la &laquo;&nbsp;Cotton University&nbsp;&raquo;, la &laquo;&nbsp;Mizoram University&nbsp;&raquo;, le &laquo;&nbsp;Zoological Survey of India &raquo; et la &laquo;&nbsp;National Research &amp; Innovation Agency &raquo; (BRIN) d&rsquo;Indon&eacute;sie.<\/p>\n<p>La d&eacute;couverte a &eacute;t&eacute; faite lors de travaux de terrain intensifs dans le district des Collines Garo de l&rsquo;Ouest. L&rsquo;holotype (<em>le sp&eacute;cimen utilis&eacute; pour la description et la d&eacute;nomination initiales de la nouvelle esp&egrave;ce<\/em> &#8211; <em>NdR<\/em>) a &eacute;t&eacute; collect&eacute; &agrave; Oragitok, dans le Bloc de Rongram, une r&eacute;gion foresti&egrave;re d&rsquo;une grande richesse &eacute;cologique. L&rsquo;esp&egrave;ce n&rsquo;est actuellement connue que dans cette localit&eacute;, ce qui souligne sa distribution limit&eacute;e et l&rsquo;urgence de sa conservation.<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs de l&rsquo;ADBU ont jou&eacute; un r&ocirc;le crucial dans l&rsquo;analyse taxonomique int&eacute;grative, notamment en contribuant aux composantes mol&eacute;culaires et phylog&eacute;n&eacute;tiques de l&rsquo;&eacute;tude. En combinant l&rsquo;examen morphologique classique &agrave; une analyse phylog&eacute;n&eacute;tique bas&eacute;e sur l&rsquo;ADN mitochondrial, l&rsquo;&eacute;quipe de recherche de l&rsquo;Universit&eacute; sal&eacute;sienne a confirm&eacute; que la population repr&eacute;sente une lign&eacute;e &eacute;volutive distincte. Les r&eacute;sultats ont r&eacute;v&eacute;l&eacute; que la <em>Calamaria Garoensis<\/em> est &eacute;troitement apparent&eacute;e &agrave; la <em>Calamaria Mizoramensis<\/em>, mais g&eacute;n&eacute;tiquement distincte, avec une divergence d&rsquo;environ 6,3 %.<\/p>\n<p>Les serpents fouisseurs des roseaux du genre Calamaria sont petits, discrets et principalement creusent dans le sol, ce qui les rend tr&egrave;s difficiles &agrave; identifier. Leurs subtiles diff&eacute;rences morphologiques ont historiquement conduit &agrave; des erreurs d&rsquo;identification, de nombreuses esp&egrave;ces ayant &eacute;t&eacute; regroup&eacute;es dans des taxons (<em>regroupements d&rsquo;organismes class&eacute;s selon des caract&eacute;ristiques communes, NdR<\/em>) trop larges. Cette &eacute;tude identifie non seulement une nouvelle esp&egrave;ce, mais l&egrave;ve &eacute;galement des ambigu&iuml;t&eacute;s taxonomiques persistantes dans la r&eacute;gion.<\/p>\n<p>Morphologiquement, la <em>Calamaria Garoensis<\/em> se distingue par une combinaison unique de caract&eacute;ristiques, notamment des &eacute;cailles dorsales lisses dispos&eacute;es en 13 rang&eacute;es, une queue courte et non effil&eacute;e &agrave; l&rsquo;extr&eacute;mit&eacute; arrondie, et une large bande noire m&eacute;diane sur la face ventrale de la queue. Le corps pr&eacute;sente des stries longitudinales ainsi qu&rsquo;un anneau nuchal peu marqu&eacute;, des traits qui la distinguent des esp&egrave;ces apparent&eacute;es.<\/p>\n<p>Il est important de souligner que cette &eacute;tude repr&eacute;sente une innovation importante dans le domaine, car elle remet en question les hypoth&egrave;ses ant&eacute;rieures selon lesquelles les serpents des roseaux de l&rsquo;ensemble du nord-est de l&rsquo;Inde appartenaient &agrave; une seule esp&egrave;ce r&eacute;pandue, la <em>Calamaria Pavimentata<\/em>. Les r&eacute;sultats obtenus sugg&egrave;rent plut&ocirc;t que ce qui &eacute;tait autrefois consid&eacute;r&eacute; comme une seule esp&egrave;ce est en r&eacute;alit&eacute; un complexe de plusieurs lign&eacute;es distinctes. Cette r&eacute;v&eacute;lation appelle &agrave; un r&eacute;examen des donn&eacute;es historiques et &agrave; des recherches syst&eacute;matiques plus approfondies.<\/p>\n<p>La contribution de l&rsquo;Assam University Don Bosco &agrave;
