On Friday afternoon, the various groups of young people began arriving at Savionalia and the grounds quickly filled with joy, dancing and moments of sharing. There was time to have fun together, pray and watch the performances by the different groups, which created the perfect atmosphere for this special gathering. Afterwards, everyone went to the Church of St Stanislaus Kostka in D\u0119bniki to take part in the liturgical service prepared by the D\u0119bniki Oratory together with Fr Andrzej Go\u0142\u0119biewski, Vic-Provincial of the PLS. Finally, Fr Dariusz Bartocha SDB, Provincial of the Krakow Province, also addressed the participants.<\/p>\n
The second day of the gathering was also a day full of emotions and shared moments. First, an introductory sketch, followed by thematic talks and over 20 workshops, ensured there was something of interest for everyone. The much-anticipated “Domenico Tournament”, in which the various groups competed against one another, was not to be missed. Football and volleyball matches were also held.<\/p>\n
A special moment was the perpetual profession of young Salesian Dawid Sw\u0119d, who said his “yes” to God for ever. And in the evening, during the “Stage for You” session, everyone had the chance to showcase their talents. Finally, to round off the day, there was the “Rock and Fire” concert, a DJ set, group dances and a performance by the “owoc uKORZENIA” vocal-instrumental group.<\/p>\n
The third and final day of Savionalia began with dancing and prayers. Afterwards, volunteers from the Salesian Missionary Volunteers of Krakow (SWM) took to the stage, sharing a little about their activities and getting everyone excited for this year’s new initiative: the “BoscoRun”, a “Run with a Mission” – which had the charitable aim of raising funds to buy a wheelchair for Kelvin.<\/p>\n
Kelvin is a 15-year-old boy living in Malawi who, due to an illness, cannot walk unaided; yet, despite this, he has not given up on his studies or his dreams. However, he lacks a wheelchair that would enable him to get to school and carry out his daily activities.<\/p>\n
The highlight of the day was the solemn Mass presided over by Fr Bartocha, who offered a spiritual reflection on the events of the preceding days. This was followed by a moment to thank everyone who had helped organise this year’s Savionalia festival, as well as the eagerly awaited announcement of the winners of the races and tournaments. Congratulations went to the Skawa oratory, which took first place in the “Domenico Tournament”, and also to the Rzeszów oratory for winning the overall classification and the Savionalia Cup.<\/p>\n
Everyone is now already looking forward to next year, for another edition of this event celebrating sport, friendship, faith and solidarity!<\/p>\n
