Rwanda – The Rector Major’s Strenna for 2026 presented to the Salesian Family

Kigali, Rwanda – January 2026 – On Saturday, 3 January, Mary Help of Christains school in Kigali hosted an important event for the Salesian Family: the presentation of the Rector Major’s Strenna 2026 “Do whatever he tells you – Believers, free to serve.” The event brought together a diverse audience, including Salesians, Past Pupil of Don Bosco, Salesian Cooperators, young people, and various groups linked to the Salesian mission. The ceremony was presided over by Fr Gabriel Ngendakuriyo, Superior of the Salesian Province of Africa Great Lakes (AGL). At the heart of this day, participants were invited to gain a deeper understanding of the Strenna 2026, an essential document that will serve as a guide for the pastoral orientation and activities of the Salesian Family throughout the year. The presentation of the action plan for the new year was given by Fr Pierre Célestin Ngoboka, who explained in detail the planned actions and how to implement them to meet the expectations of the Rector Major. The morning continued with the celebration of Mass presided over by Fr Gabriel Ngendakuriyo and concelebrated by other Salesian priests. The day ended with a speech by Fr Innocent Bizimana, Regional Councillor for East and Southern Africa, who outlined the main activities of the Salesian Congregation for 2025. He expressed the hope that the new year 2026 would be a light and a force enabling the community to fully accomplish its mission in the coming year.
