Ecuador – December 2025 – A medical brigade was held in the Achuar community of Pumpuentsa on 28 and 29 December 2025. The event was organised by the Salesian Community of Wasakentsa in collaboration with the Anaía Mission of Cuenca, and led by former volunteer Emily Carrión. In Pumpuentsa, the brigade provided assistance to community members suffering from ailments such as flu, coughs, and other illnesses. Assistance was provided by 10 doctors from the University of Cuenca, various organizations, and the city of Quito, with the support of the Seguir las Huellas Foundation. Meanwhile, another group of 18 young people travelled to the Achuar communities of Karakam, Kurinua, Wasurak, Patukmay, and Ipiak, where they shared the Christmas message and delivered donations to families, young people, and children. The activity was positively received by the participants in the Anaía Project. During the evaluation and feedback session, the young people shared their experiences in the different communities. The communities visited also expressed their gratitude for the donations received and the medical assistance provided. Special thanks go to the Salesian community in Taisha for welcoming the participants before their trip to the different communities and also on their return, offering them accommodation.
