Giron, Ecuador – 6 January 2026 – The second day of Fr Rafael Bejarano’s Animation Visit to Ecuador as General Councillor for Youth Ministry, ended with the Festival of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) and Oratories of the Northern Zone, held in the gym of the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS), El Girón campus. The meeting was a true Salesian celebration where young people expressed their talents through dance and music. Delegations from Quito, Cayambe, Ibarra, Ambato, Riobamba and Esmeraldas participated in this day, characterised by an atmosphere of fraternity and joy, shared with the General Councillor. During the festival, Fr Bejarano shared with the participants some aspects of his vocational journey and his service within the Salesian Congregation. The day ended with the traditional ‘Salesian Goodnight’ by Fr Bejarano, centred on the Epiphany: ‘Today the universal Church celebrates a very important feast: the Epiphany, the Epiphany of the Magi. We have a mission, as young people and as Salesian communities, and that is, just as the Magi did, to go in search of the Child of Bethlehem, following his star (…) We too have a mission to take care of the gift of Jesus; we have a mission, as the Salesian Family, to take care of the Child God and to allow him to grow so that he can be the Saviour of many people.’.
