Recife, Brazil – January 2026 – The 27th General Congress of the “Community of Young Christians” Movement (Comunidade de Jovens Cristãos – CJC in Portuguese) was held at the Salesian College of the Sacred Heart in Recife from 9 to 11 January. Considered the Movement’s largest gathering, the meeting brought together delegations from the four states where the CJC is present: Pernambuco, Ceará, Alagoas, and Bahia. The program was rich in conviviality, formation, discernment, and decisions that will guide the CJC’s path for the next three years. In an atmosphere of prayer, fraternity, and co-responsibility, the General Congress took place at a deeply symbolic moment: the Jubilee Year of the CJC Movement, which is preparing to celebrate 60 years of history, faith, and mission. Inspired by the theme ‘Celebrating 60 years of family’, the congress reinforced the sense of belonging, continuity, and commitment to the Salesian charism lived by the CJC. Throughout the program, congress participants experienced moments of celebration, formative reflections, group sharing, and listening sessions, as well as deliberative moments, including the election of the new General Council.
