Poland – The Christmas meeting that opened the Jubilee of the Salesian Cooperators

Sokołów Podlaski, Poland – January 2026 – On 10 January, Sokołów Podlaski became the heart of the provincial community of Salesian Cooperators with the traditional Christmas meeting held in the parish of St John Bosco. The event was organised by the Sokołów Podlaski FMA Local Centre and, thanks to the availability of the Salesians of Don Bosco and the management of the Salesian school, was able to take place on their premises. The meeting brought together representatives of communities from across the province and had a special significance, as it symbolically marked the beginning of the celebration of the jubilee year for the 150th anniversary of the Association of Salesian Cooperators. The main venue for the meeting was the Salesian school in Sokołów Podlaski, where participants were able to experience the joy of encounter, communion, and formation. The central moment of the day was the Eucharist, during which the Salesian Cooperators renewed their promises. Representatives of the province, as well as provincial and local delegates, participated in the meeting. Present were: the Vicar of the Provincial, Fr Adam Wtulich, SDB, the Provincial Delegate, Fr Henryk Bonkowski, SDB, and the Provincial Delegate, Sr Halina Koćwin, FMA. After the Eucharist, participants were invited to a special part of the celebration: a concert of Christmas carols performed by the Effatha group. The program included short spiritual interventions that summarised the Association’s three-year formation journey, expressed in the verbs: “remember – renew – revive.”
