During his stay, Fr. Silvio visited several key formative centres of the Province, including the Don Bosco Theological Centre, Kavarapettai; Idaya Deepam Novitiate, Yelagiri Hills; Don Bosco Aspirantate, Tirupattur; and The Retreat, Yercaud. He was especially pleased to meet and interact with 35 young Salesians engaged in practical training and college studies across various communities of the Province. At each of these settings, he entered into open and attentive dialogue with formators and formees, celebrated the Holy Eucharist with them, and offered words of encouragement, guidance, and clarity. His presence underscored the importance of accompaniment, discernment, and personal engagement in the journey of Salesian formation. Fr. Silvio was accompanied throughout the visit by Rev. Fr. Jose Kuttiyanimattathil.

Reflecting on his experience in the Province, Fr. Silvio remarked, “I have encountered a living and committed formative reality, where the young confreres are accompanied with care and responsibility. What struck me most was the sincere desire to grow as Salesians, rooted in Don Bosco’s spirit and open to the challenges of today’s mission.”

In addition to his formative engagements, Fr. Silvio participated in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Jnanodaya Salesian College, Yercaud, joining the Salesian Family and the academic community in giving thanks to God for seventy-five years of committed educational service.

The visit concluded with an interaction with the Provincial and the Provincial Council of the Salesian Province of Chennai. On this occasion, Fr. Silvio expressed his positive appreciation of the overall state of initial formation in the Province and of the efforts being made to revitalise ongoing formation among the confreres. Throughout his visit, he placed particular emphasis on personal encounters with the formees, highlighting the need to personalise formation and to nurture carefully the Salesian vocation of each young confrere. His presence strengthened communion with the Rector Major, affirmed the commitment of the formators, and offered clear orientations for the continued renewal of Salesian formation in the Province.
