A key moment of the evening was the inauguration of the new Multi-purpose Don Bosco Hall on the Perambur campus. The Rector Major formally opened the facility and dedicated it as a space intended to foster holistic growth, creativity, and community engagement among the young. The new hall stands as a concrete sign of the Province’s ongoing commitment to creating environments where young people can develop their talents and grow in confidence.
Following the inauguration, the programme unfolded through a series of prayer moments and cultural performances that reflected both the richness of Tamil tradition and the dynamism of the Salesian Youth Movement. Music, dance, drama, and traditional artistic expressions highlighted the talents of the participants and showcased their rooted cultural identity.
The central moment of the evening was the Rector Major’s dialogue with the young people. Speaking with simplicity and closeness, he encouraged them to remain firmly grounded in faith while committing themselves generously to service. He reminded them that they are not merely recipients of the Salesian mission but active protagonists in shaping society.
Inviting them to maturity and responsibility, he urged the youth to support one another, to stand by their friends, and to seek guidance when necessary. He emphasized that the family spirit must characterize every Salesian presence, affirming that each young person is a child of God, deserving of dignity, education, and loving accompaniment.
The attentive participation of the youth and their enthusiastic response underscored the significance of the encounter. More than a formal programme, the evening became a meaningful moment of communion between the Successor of Don Bosco and the young who continue to carry forward his dream.
The gathering concluded with a renewed sense of unity and commitment to Salesian values, leaving the participants with a spirit of hope and shared mission.
