India – Salesian College Radio Club Launches ‘Open Stage’ on World Radio Day

(ANS – Siliguri)  – The Radio Club of Salesian College (Autonomous), Siliguri, marked its first anniversary with the launch of Open Stage, a digital public platform, on the eve of World Radio Day. Designed as an open-access “digital microphone,” the platform allows students and members of the wider community to share reflections and creative content without formal membership. The initiative aligns with the 2026 World Radio Day theme, “Radio and Artificial Intelligence: AI is a tool, not a voice,” emphasizing responsible use of technology in media. Established on 13 February 2025 under the direction of Fr C.M. Paul, the club has produced podcasts, hosted creative forums, and promoted student-led media initiatives. The new platform aims to democratize dialogue and expand participation beyond campus. Club leaders described it as a space for storytelling, creative confidence, and responsible communication in the digital age.
