More than an anniversary celebration, SkillVention 2026 became a moment of Salesian renewal. Under the theme “AI-Powered Future Skills,” discussions focused on aligning skilling initiatives with emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and national priorities such as Viksit Bharat, while safeguarding the dignity of every young person.

In his inaugural address, Fr. Davis Maniparamben, the President of DB Tech Society, emphasized that youth empowerment through employable skills is a moral responsibility rooted in the Salesian charism. Fr. George Mathew, the Executive Director of DB Tech highlighted the importance of strong operational systems, including the BOON Face MIS platform, to ensure accountability and scale, while cautioning that growth must never dilute Salesian identity.

These reflections were echoed during the “Panel of Pioneers,” where founding member Fr. Furtado Adolph reaffirmed that the dignity of the young person remains non-negotiable. The panel included senior professionals such as Mr. Devi Prasad Mahapatra (International Rice Research Institute), Ms. Manisha Bhattacharya from Accenture, Mr. Sriraj, GM Operations at Leela Palace, and representatives from ITC and Schneider Electric. Moderated by Ms. Anita Sharma, a founding member of DB Tech, the discussion highlighted the importance of sustained industry and CSR partnerships in building effective skilling ecosystems.

The first day also celebrated DB Tech’s journey with the launch of the commemorative volume “Grassroots to Global – 20 Years of Skilling with a Heart,” along with a documentary tracing its evolution from modest beginnings to a nationwide network serving thousands of youth annually. Cultural performances representing 20 states symbolized the organization’s national presence, and awards were presented to recognize outstanding staff contributions.

Day two focused on “The Ecosystem & Future of Skilling.” Representatives from NASSCOM, Bosch, and international agencies addressed national skilling priorities and AI-driven digitalization. Industry leaders examined emerging workforce needs across sectors such as defence, hospitality, aviation, and talent acquisition. CSR partners from IBM, Wadhwani Foundation, and Cognizant emphasized continuous learning in a rapidly changing employment landscape, captured in the refrain: “Learn. Unlearn. Relearn.” Participants also explored sustainable employment models beyond the gig economy, highlighting Work-Integrated Learning and long-term career pathways.

A major highlight was the signing of multiple MoUs with training and placement partners, including NASSCOM, Aerophile Academy, Leela Palace, and 24*7.ai. An innovation expo and job fair provided direct engagement between trained youth and employers.

As SkillVention 2026 concluded, DB Tech reaffirmed its commitment to train and place one million youth over the next five years. Anchored in its Salesian heart, the organization pledged to ensure that every skill imparted becomes not only a pathway to employment, but a foundation for dignity, identity, and hope.
