(ANS – Touba) – The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) officially resumed its activities in Touba, Mali on Saturday 7 March 2026. This relaunch was made possible thanks to the joint coordination of the Salesians of Don Bosco of the West Africa North Province (AON) and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA). The event marked an important milestone for youth ministry in the area, with the participation of 32 young people from Touba and other regions. In the initial phase of the meeting, a presentation of the SYM allowed participants to rediscover the identity, mission, and values of the movement inspired by Don Bosco’s pedagogy. It also fostered a better understanding of the role of the SYM in the spiritual and educational accompaniment of young people, encouraging each one to become a committed actor in their own environment. The Rector Major’s Strenna 2026 was then presented, which helped to nurture the participants’ commitment and belonging to Salesian spirituality. The day also featured practical formation workshops, with the aim of developing practical skills in young people, in line with Salesian pedagogy.
