Guided and inspired by Don Bosco’s charism and the need to evangelise in the so-called new digital playgrounds, the programme will be run by the Salesian Centre for Social and Professional Development of the BSP Province. The course offers holistic formation for young people through an experience that is at once educational, pastoral and communicative, developing skills in areas such as content production, storytelling, digital safety and life planning. The initiative is in line with the Salesian mission to educate and evangelise and integrates communication with youth leadership.

Nineteen young people aged between 18 and 30 will take part in “Corresponde”, namely one representative from each of the 19 Salesian presences in the State of São Paulo. The programme will last eight months, with a total workload of 192 hours spread across four modules, and also includes a scholarship scheme to enable young people to participate fully in the activities.

Collective experience

The training methodology will be structured around three complementary dimensions: face-to-face meetings, which foster integration among participants and a deeper understanding of the content; weekly individual mentoring, focused on the progressive development of each young person; and practical activities aimed at putting the acquired knowledge into practice.

Practical activities form the core of the formation and include the production of original content, such as texts, videos and various types of audiovisual material. The programme aims not only at technical development, but also at stimulating creativity, a critical understanding of reality and the involvement of young people in the communication of their communities. In this context, participants will act as local correspondents, contributing directly to the communication of Salesian presences from a youth perspective.

Opportunities

Registration for young people from BSP is open from 8 to 27 April 2026, via the online form available here. The final selections will be announced on 30 April and activities are scheduled to begin on 16 May, with the first in-person meeting at the Provincial Centre in São Paulo.

More than just a course, “Corresponde” presents itself as an integrated programme of formation, accompaniment and practical engagement, which aims to strengthen communication as a tool for evangelisation and to consolidate a network of young leaders at the service of the Salesian mission, forming young people who are aware of their role in the Church and in society, capable of critically analysing reality and acting as agents of transformation.

In this way, “Corresponde” aims to be a bridge between young people, communication and evangelisation: a bridge built through encounter, listening and sharing, pointing towards a future in which young people not only participate but are protagonists of the Salesian mission, becoming a voice, a presence and a witness in the various settings of daily life.
