Italy – The Pontifical Salesian University launches a “Mobile Video Content Creation” workshop, a mobile video production workshop for social media

The Mobile Video Content Creation workshop is dedicated to creating video content for social media, with a training approach focused on the skills now required in the digital communication landscape and the professional media market.

Participants will learn how to film using a smartphone and edit short, clear and effective content, in line with the styles of the main digital platforms.

The three-day course (four hours a day) provides step-by-step guidance on producing professional videos for Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, whilst also offering a practical understanding of how the platforms and their algorithms work.

Particular attention is paid to the integration of Artificial Intelligence tools to support the creative and production process, with a mindful and responsible approach.

The course is designed for those wishing to develop skills in video production for social media, even if starting from scratch.

It is aimed at students, religious figures, journalists and those working in communication and media management, offering practical tools to understand and coordinate communication processes more effectively in today’s digital landscape.

All that is required is the use of your own smartphone. There is no need to purchase new equipment: the course makes the most of the tools already available, optimising their use for professional purposes.

The course will take place in two separate sessions, from 30 June to 2 July 2026 and from 28 to 30 September 2026, in person at the FSC headquarters in Rome. A maximum of 25 participants are admitted to each session.

The workshop will be led by the following Salesian lecturers:

Fr Maciej Makula, a journalist and university lecturer with experience in television production and digital communication, specialising in the creation of video content for mobile and social media, integrating digital tools and artificial intelligence in a practical way; he has been supporting communicators, educators and pastoral workers for years in the production of effective content for the digital landscape;

– and Fr Donato Lacedonio, Associate Professor of Image Theory and Techniques, Director of ANS from 2005 to 2013 and communications coordinator for various institutional events of the Congregation, who currently teaches “Video Production” and “Theories of Audiovisual Forms and Narratives” at the FSC of the UPS.
