The proceedings began with the morning Eucharistic Celebration, followed by the introduction of the participants and the host Province of Southern Italy (IME). Among the main speakers was the General Councillor for Social Communication, Fr Fidel Maria Orendain.

Ample time was devoted to planning for the six-year term, with the presentation, discussion and approval of the document, alongside moments of reflection and sharing. In the afternoon, a ‘general tour’ took place, and in the evening, the group moved to the Salesian community in Torre Annunziata for a convivial gathering.

27 April began with a discussion session on making the 29th General Chapter (GC29) well known. Participants also addressed specific topics with the Sector Councillors and shared some best practices, including the reorganisation of Salesian Italy and the experience of “lay-managed houses”.

In the afternoon, there were in-depth discussions on topics to be included in upcoming meetings, the finalisation of the calendar, and a session dedicated to the “Mamma Margaret’s Letter”. The meeting concluded with a cultural visit and a fraternal agape meal.
