(ANS – Belo Horizonte) – On Saturday 2 May 2026, the team from the Salesian Vocational Guidance Service (SSOV) of the St John Bosco Province of Belo Horizonte Brazil (BBH) held another online meeting as part of the “Vocational Awakening” programme, bringing together a group of young people interested in deepening their discernment of their vocation. The meeting was led by Salesian postnovices residing in the community of the Instituto São Vicente in Campo Grande (MS), and its central theme was the question: “Religious congregation: what is it?” Following an introductory activity, led by postnovice Paulo Henrique, in which participants shared their journey of discovering the Salesian Congregation, postnovice Fernando Mauri presented a reflection on the origins of religious life. Starting from the path of Christ, he traced the experience of the apostles and the historical development through the centuries, up to the formation of religious orders and congregations, also highlighting their differences. The meeting also included a brief sharing session among the young people, led by postnovice Felipe Charra, and concluded with the announcement of upcoming vocational retreats, organised by region, reaffirming the importance of accompaniment provided by a Salesian. Initiatives such as this prove fundamental in reawakening young people’s interest in religious life, offering spaces for listening, formation and accompaniment, which are essential for an authentic journey of vocational discernment.
