Poland – Meeting in Warsaw between Missioni Don Bosco Valdocco, Turin and the Missionary Centre of the PLE Province
The exchange of knowledge between the Turin Mission Office and the Polish Service – which has been active for several years and was strengthened during the 29th General Chapter of the Salesian Congregation (GC29) – aims to facilitate the mutual sharing of operational methods, best practices and long-term visions developed within the two bodies, both of which are highly active in providing fraternal support to Salesian works around the world.
Fr Barone commented on the meeting, noting that “operational synergy through fraternal exchange and shared prayer makes missionary work in the service of young people even more effective.”The dynamic mission work of the Salesians in Italy and Poland has long been recognised in dozens of countries, and thousands of young people and communities in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe itself experience its benefits on a daily basis.
During the two days of work, the delegation from Missioni Don Bosco also had the opportunity to meet and discuss matters with the Superior of the St Stanislaus Kostka Province of Warsaw, Poland (PLE), Fr Tadeusz Jarecki, in an exchange that provided an opportunity for direct discussion on the European geopolitical situation and the Salesian response to this reality.
Furthermore, the presence in Warsaw of the Superior of the Mary Help of Christians Vice-Province of Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe (ZMB), Fr Michael Kazembe Mbandama, together with some missionaries in those countries, allowed for a joint review and exchange regarding the Vice-Province’s initiatives, to which both Salesian organisations – the Polish and the Italian – contribute.
