(ANS – Kawant) – More than 200 remote tribal residents accessed critical government welfare services at a two-day Government Scheme Facilitation Camp organised by DISHA Don Bosco, Kawant, in the villages of Vagudan and Nanavanta on June 12 and 13, 2026. The camp aimed to support disadvantaged tribal families facing difficulties accessing government benefits due to limited awareness, documentation, and procedural barriers. By bringing services to the villages, it bridged the gap between welfare schemes and marginalised communities. A total of 263 people from eight villages benefited from the camp. During the camp, the DISHA Don Bosco team assisted beneficiaries with various government schemes and documentation services. The team helped people apply for or correct ration cards, enrol in the Widow Pension Scheme and Old Age Pension Scheme, update KYC, register on the I-Khedut Portal, and link Aadhaar cards. Staff guided beneficiaries through procedures and ensured accurate completion of applications, helping them navigate administrative barriers. Officials said DISHA Don Bosco continually promotes social inclusion and, through such camps, ensures that tribal communities have access to welfare benefits and services designed for their development and well-being.
