Mexico – Interamerica Region Holds 2026 Quinquennium Meeting for Young Salesian Priests

(ANS – Guadalajara) – From 29 June to 5 July 2026, Casa Betsaida, of the Mexico-Guadalajara Salesian Province, is hosting the 2026 Quinquennium Meeting of the Interamerica Region, an ongoing formation programme for Salesian priests in the first five years of their priestly ministry. Twenty-three priests from five Provinces are taking part: 2 from Mexico-Mexico (MEM), 5 from Colombia-Medellín (COM), 4 from Colombia-Bogotá (COB), 7 from Mexico-Guadalajara (MEG), and 5 from the Central America Province (CAM). Also accompanying the programme are the Vice Provincials and Formation Delegates of the COM and MEG Provinces. The central theme of this year’s meeting is “The Identity of the Salesian Priest.” Reflection and study focus on Salesian identity and spirituality, priestly ministry and pastoral practice, vocational fidelity, and the opportunities and challenges presented by Artificial Intelligence and new technologies in educational and pastoral work. Alongside the formation sessions, participants share moments of prayer, Eucharistic celebration, fraternity, and recreation, fostering spiritual renewal and strengthening communion among the young Salesian priests of the Region. The Quinquennium Meeting offers an important opportunity to deepen Salesian priestly identity, reinforce bonds among the Provinces, and renew commitment to the educational and evangelising mission inspired by Don Bosco for the service of young people and the Church.
