India – Leaders of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad, India, emphasise the importance of responsibility and legal preparation

Hyderabad, India – January 2026 – From 8-10 January the leaders of the St Joseph Province of Hyderabad, India, (INH) gathered at the Provincial House to call for stronger accountability mechanisms, greater legal awareness, and a renewed pastoral commitment to young people. Fr Castilino Vincent, Provincial Economer, stressed the importance of achieving measurable results and strictly complying with legal norms. Mr Ramesh’s technical contributions focused on digital verification of land registry records and the interpretation of official land registry documentation through government portals. Legal preparedness emerged as another priority during an interactive session led by Mr Bollu Ramesh of the Nalgonda Police Station. He addressed issues related to public order, cybercrime, disturbances in educational institutions, and crimes against women and minors. Finally, Fr Santiagu Thomas, Superior of INH spoke, reiterating the importance of walking with young people through listening, participation, and shared leadership. The meeting then concluded with a reflection on Pope Leo XIV’s Apostolic Exhortation, “Dilexi Te.”
