Chennai, India – February 2026 – The Chennai Salesian Province hosted Faith Fiesta 2026 (Maraikalvi Naal) on 30 January 2026 at St. Bede’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, bringing together nearly 1,000 children from Tirupattur, Pondicherry, Vellore and Chennai for a day of prayer, learning and celebration. Organized by Deepagam, the Don Bosco Catechetical Centre, the event aimed to root children in the Word of God, nurture Gospel values and encourage the expression of faith through creativity. The gathering was officiated by Most Rev. Dr A. M. Chinappa, Archbishop Emeritus, with Salesian leaders emphasizing catechesis as the heart of Salesian education. Highlights included faith-sharing testimonies, cultural competitions, the launch of the “Friends of Jesus” Club for schoolchildren and the inauguration of “Salt and Light Clubs” for youth. The celebration concluded with acknowledgements of long-serving collaborators, reaffirming the Salesian commitment to joyful, faith-filled formation of the young.
