India – SEED Initiative Boosts Girls’ Education with Bicycle Distribution in Jaigaon

(ANS – Jaigaon) – Thirty school-going girls in Jaigaon village, Sinnar Block, received bicycles under the SEED initiative, “Empowering Girls through Mobility for Education,” supported by General Mills India Private Limited. The programme addresses the challenge of safe access to schools in rural areas, helping reduce travel strain, save time, and improve attendance. Implemented by BOSCONET in collaboration with Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra, the initiative ensures strong community involvement. Senior representatives from General Mills, along with the Village Sarpanch and school Headmistress, attended the distribution ceremony. Speakers encouraged the girls to pursue education with determination and urged parents to support their daughters’ studies. Fr. Santhanam Ubagaram, National Director of BOSCONET, highlighted the company’s commitment to social responsibility, calling the initiative a significant step toward girls’ empowerment and community development.
