In February 1858, Don Bosco travelled to Rome for the first time, accompanied by Michael Rua, who at the time was a 21-year-old cleric. Don Bosco’s first visit to the Eternal City was an intense experience, which he did not keep to himself but shared with his young people with his characteristic enthusiasm and educational passion.
