(ANS – Chennai) – In a pioneering initiative to improve the holistic development of students, the Salesian Niraivagam Institute of Psychological Services (DBIPS), in collaboration with Teatro 7 Solidarietà in Rome, launched a comprehensive 10-day workshop focusing on social-emotional learning (SEL) and personality traits. The project focused on social-emotional learning (SEL) and personality development, specifically centred on secondary psychological development needs, through the creative medium of theatre. The project began with a 5-day formation programme, held from 25 February to 2 March 2026 at Niraivagam’s headquarters in Kilpauk, aimed at teachers and school counsellors, providing them with practical theatre-based methods. Under the expert guidance of international facilitators, educators and counsellors, participants explored how the performing arts can be used to cultivate emotional intelligence, resilience and leadership skills in students. The second half of the project, from 3 to 7 March 2026, involved the student body, leaders and class representatives, who were helped to refine their personality traits and social skills through immersive activities.
