(ANS – Doomdooma) – The Don Bosco senior secondary school in Doomdooma, Upper Assam, celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with a large-scale environmental awareness campaign. The event included a tree-planting initiative that brought together 3,008 students, 94 teachers and members of the Doomdooma Past Pupil Association. Together, they promoted ecological responsibility. Fr Amil Kujur, SDB, Headmaster of the school, led the event, demonstrating the school’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. The Headteacher then emphasised that environmental protection should be an ongoing commitment, not just an event celebrated once a year. He therefore encouraged the students to become ambassadors for the environment, reducing waste, saving water and planting trees in their communities. The programme concluded with a collective commitment from all those present to work towards a greener and more sustainable future.
