(ANS – Seville) – Bosco Global has presented its 2025 Report – Heroes of Hope – which summarises the work carried out over the past year alongside 51,095 people, through 59 projects implemented in 16 countries around the world, including Spain, and highlights a shared conviction: solidarity knows no borders.
The report’s publication comes at a time when the importance of international cooperation is being called into question, following recent agreements signed by regional governments. The National NGO Co-ordinator and the network of Regional Co-ordinators of Development NGOs, of which Bosco Global is a member, are promoting a campaign in favour of public cooperation policy as a tool for eradicating inequalities and poverty worldwide, because, as the campaign slogan states, defending solidarity, cooperation and mutual support ‘is the normal thing to do’.
At the presentation of the report, Fr Fernando Miranda, President of Bosco Global and Superior of Spain’s Mary Help of Christians Province (SMX), recalled that ‘in the face of those who present a false dilemma between addressing local needs or supporting those living in situations of poverty and exclusion in other parts of the world, we continue to maintain that solidarity knows no boundaries. It is time to build fraternity, to recognise ourselves as one human family and to respond together to global challenges’.
Throughout 2025, Bosco Global promoted 37 international cooperation projects, 20 initiatives in Education for Transformation and Global Justice, and two volunteering schemes, reaffirming its commitment to promoting human rights, education, equal opportunities and the building of communities capable of transforming their own circumstances.
Another year marked by emergencies
In 2025, through the international Salesian network, Bosco Global supported children affected by the wars in Ukraine and Lebanon, as well as the victims of the earthquake in Myanmar, and continued to work alongside communities suffering the consequences of protracted conflicts, such as in the Tigray region of Ethiopia.
At the same time, it continued to promote projects that strengthen access to vocational formation, youth employability, agroecology, food security, entrepreneurship and quality education in countries such as Senegal, Mali, Ethiopia, Ghana, Bolivia and Ecuador.
In Spain, education has continued to serve as a tool for fostering critical and engaged citizenship. Thousands of children, young people and education professionals have taken part in initiatives focused on protecting our Common Home, gender equality, a culture of peace, cultural diversity, the prevention of hate speech and the defence of human rights.
A shared commitment
