(ANS – Nandurbar) – Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) is facilitating a rural exposure programme for the novices of Don Bosco, STI Nashik, in the tribal district of Nandurbar, offering them an immersive experience of rural and tribal life. The initiative aims to help the young novices have a first hand experience of the social, cultural, and educational realities of marginalized communities. The programme began with an orientation which gave clarity on the district’s socio-economic context and the challenges facing tribal education, including migration, geographical isolation, and inadequate infrastructure. The resilience of tribal families and their commitment to educating their children was also highlighted. The novices then visited villages and ashram schools in Dhadgaon, interacting closely with students and staff. Through open conversations, they learned about the children’s daily routines, responsibilities, struggles, and aspirations. Moving beyond observation, the novices organized games, action songs, and group activities, creating moments of shared joy.
