(ANS – Bengaluru) – Don Bosco Tech Society and the Bosch India Foundation (BIF) have partnered to launch a pan-India Automotive Technician Skill Development Program aimed at empowering youth through industry-aligned training. The collaboration framework was finalized during an online meeting on 31 March 2026 with BIF representatives and heads of 17 Don Bosco ITI and Diploma institutions offering automotive courses. Chaired by Fr. Eugene Florence, Director of the Don Bosco Skills Mission, the meeting introduced a pilot add-on program for final-year automotive students. The short-term courses will equip young people, especially from less privileged backgrounds, with practical skills, industry exposure, and improved employability for roles such as Automotive Service Technician and Automotive Service Advisor. Don Bosco institutions will manage training and placements, while BIF will provide curriculum support, assessments, and industry linkages. A nationwide rollout is planned for September 2026.
