(ANS – Ranchi) – On 22 April 2026, to mark World Earth Day, students and teachers at Don Bosco Kokar, Ranchi, came together to celebrate this important occasion. Throughout the day, the school campus was transformed into a vibrant hub for environmental awareness, with a particular focus on the delicate issue of climate change. In the morning, members of the Don Bosco Green Alliance performed a moving song on the theme of the Earth, with lyrics that highlighted the planet’s resilience and everyone’s shared responsibility to protect it. The harmony of their voices echoed through every hall, serving as a reminder that, although the Earth is vast, its ecosystems are fragile and require collective efforts to survive. Immediately afterwards, a striking march took place, with students parading across the campus. The younger children were dressed up as various plants and animals, whilst the older ones displayed placards bearing innovative slogans focusing on renewable energy and a plastic-free lifestyle. The procession, far more than a simple parade, was a visual representation of the school’s commitment to making a tangible difference. At the end of the Earth Day 2026 celebrations, the Headmaster, Fr Babu Varghese, urged staff and students to adopt the ‘3Rs’ – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – so as to keep the environment clean.
