(ANS – Panbazar) – On 8 June 2026, the Governor of Assam, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, visited the Don Bosco Senior Secondary School in Panbazar. On this occasion, he urged students and staff to strive for excellence through education, discipline and service. The visit, held in the school auditorium, was part of a special programme linked to “Amar Swaheed Shraddhanjali”, a tribute to the nation’s martyrs. The event was attended by distinguished guests, military personnel, educators and students. Addressing the school community, the Governor emphasised that education is the foundation for nation-building and urged the students to become leaders and serve society. He described schools as “temples of knowledge” and encouraged the students to pursue ambitious dreams and work diligently to realise them. The Governor praised the school’s management and teaching staff for fostering values and character in the students, emphasising the need for academic excellence, moral integrity, patriotism and service to the common good. The Headmaster of the Salesian school, Fr Alex Kattakayam, welcomed the Governor, describing the occasion as a historic moment for the institution, and thanked him for his words of encouragement. The visit offered the students a rare opportunity to interact with one of the state’s highest constitutional authorities, reinforcing the school’s educational philosophy with an emphasis on discipline, dedication, patriotism and moral values.
