(ANS – Najafgarh) – Don Bosco Tech in Najafgarh recently launched a course for solar panel installers as part of the CCSE 2026-27 solar project, offering 33 trainees the opportunity to enter India’s growing renewable energy sector. The opening ceremony brought together Salesians, representatives from industry and the project, trainees and staff, and included the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, the distribution of training kits, short cultural performances and a tour of the workshop. The programme aims to provide young people with technical skills, practical experience and support for job placement, helping them to find employment in the solar sector. This reflects the Salesians’ commitment to developing the skills of vulnerable young people and supports the Sustainable Development Goals. This project was made possible thanks also to the collaboration with ‘Sungrow’, a leading company in the renewable energy sector. Also worth noting is the presence of Ms Simran, the only female participant. Her presence highlights the urgent need to increase female representation in emerging technical sectors, particularly in renewable energy.
