Introducing the proceedings, Fr Rafael Bejarano, General Councillor for Youth Ministry, invited the participants to carefully review the pastoral journey of the various Provinces, emphasising the importance of systematising the experiences gained. This process, he highlighted, is fundamental to fostering a more in-depth reflection and promoting the organic development of Salesian Youth Ministry.
The second session was devoted to the relationship between the Social Communications (SC) Sector and the Youth Ministry Sector. Fr Paul Satish, from the SC Sector, outlined the dynamics of collaboration between the two areas, whilst Fr Antoine Farrugia and Sara Sechi subsequently presented the work of the Youth Ministry Safeguarding and Advocacy team, highlighting their commitment to representing the sector at multilateral institutions and collaborating with local organisations.
Saturday 6 June began with Fr Bejarano’s invitation not to neglect the process of evaluating the experience gained during the School of Delegates, considered an essential step in consolidating the fruits of the formation programme.
During the first session, Prof. Quirarte proposed concrete criteria to guide pastoral planning, encouraging participants to reflect on the relevance of their actions, the effectiveness of their objectives, the efficient use of resources, and the sustainability of their proposals. This approach highlighted the need for informed and responsible pastoral planning, capable of responding to the real needs of young people.
The second session was led by Salesian Brother Alberto Rodriguez, representing the General Finance Sector, who explored the relationship between administrative organisation and the management of the Provinces. His presentation highlighted the decisive role of human relationships in the smooth functioning of organisational structures, emphasising how they help to build a positive atmosphere, foster collaboration, make leadership effective, and transform conflicts into opportunities for growth.
In this context, it was reiterated that organisations characterised by healthy relationships are more effective, resilient and development-oriented.
These sessions concluded the SYMFoR study programme, providing the Delegates with tools and insights to support the animation of Youth Ministry in the various Provinces with greater awareness and competence.
