Spain – Third day of formation focused on child protection

(ANS – Madrid) – The Salesians of Spain’s St James the Greater Province (SSM) organised the Third Formation Session focused on Child Protection. The conference, held at Casa Don Bosco in Madrid, brought together around 50 local coordinators on 19 and 20 February 2026. The aim of this meeting was to continue building safe environments for all. The main objective of this meeting was to consolidate child protection from an overall perspective. On the one hand, protocols were reviewed and the role of the coordinator was discussed. On the other hand, formation combined support, institutional clarity and the necessary self-care for those in charge. In this way, progress was made in generating a true culture of care in all Salesian centres. The conference methodology was divided into three distinct work blocks that explored three fundamental verbs: accompanying, acting and preventing. In conclusion, participants evaluated their experiences over the years and returned home prepared to take action.
