(ANS – Barcelona) – On Tuesday 21 April 2026, a Mass was celebrated in Barcelona in memory and honour of the Venerable Dorotea de Chopitea. The Mass took place in the chapel of Can Prats, in Plaça d’Artòs, a place emblematic of Don Bosco’s time in Barcelona. “We know that Venerable Dorotea lived out and expressed her social, Christian and Salesian values, dedicating herself entirely to families and, in particular, to the poorest young people of 19th-century Barcelona,” said Fr Josep Lluís Burguera, vice-postulator of the cause for beatification and a Salesian priest who presided over the Mass. The gathering offered the Salesian Family the opportunity to pray together, thanking the Lord for such a great and beloved figure as Dorothea. “Let us pray to the Holy Spirit to enlighten and guide us as we move forward with her cause for beatification.”
