Italy – Provincial Feast Day of the Salesian St Mark Province: a significant moment of communion and fraternity

(ANS – Palmanova) – On 25 April 2026, the Salesian St Mark Province of North-East Italy (INE) experienced a significant moment of communion and fraternity during its traditional Provincial Festival. The gathering took place at the theatre in Palmanova, where around 130 Salesians came together in a simple and familiar atmosphere, in the style that has always characterised Salesian life. The morning began with a time for prayer in common, focusing on listening to the Word and invoking the Holy Spirit, so that this occasion might be experienced not merely as an organisational event, but as an authentic shared spiritual moment. Particularly significant was the address by the Provincial, Fr Silvio Zanchetta, who was able to capture and interpret the profound meaning of the gathering. The event also included a presentation on the work of the Viarte di Santa Maria la Longa, given by Fr Stefano Pegorin, who offered those present a broad and concrete insight into an educational initiative that, over time, has developed into a meaningful response to the needs of the most vulnerable young people. The morning then continued with the commemoration of jubilees of profession and ordination, concrete signs of a fidelity that spans the years and continues to sustain the life of the INE province.
