(ANS – Évora) – To mark its centenary, the Salesian presence in Évora hosted the Provincial Community Feast Day on 10 June. The Salesians of Portugal Province (POR) gathered to celebrate this important anniversary. The occasion also provided an opportunity to pay tribute to the Provincial, Fr Tarcízio Morais, for his service in leadership and governance. At the same time, the Salesians marking 25, 50, 60 and 70 years since their First Religious Profession and Ordination were also honoured. On the same day, following Mass presided over by Fr Morais, Fr João Chaves and Br Paulo Chaves, SDB, took up their respective posts as Vice-Provincial POR and Rector of the Salesian work in Funchal.
