Córdoba, Spain – January 2026 – As part of the 125th anniversary of the Salesians in Córdoba, on Saturday 10 January, the picture of Don Bosco was transferred to the parish of Santa Luisa de Marillac. It will remain there for the whole week and various activities will be held to present the Salesian foundation and charism. The Salesians have been present in Córdoba since 1901, when they settled in the San Lorenzo neighbourhood, dedicating themselves to the integral development of young people, especially those most in need. Don Bosco’s dream of believing in young people lives on today in every educator, every family and every child in the Salesian school in Córdoba. Throughout the year, educational, cultural, pastoral and social activities are planned under the motto ‘125 years with you’, with the aim of making it an event full of gratitude, especially to God and Mary Help of Christians. Throughout January, the Salesians of Córdoba will carry out a mission in the Guadalquivir Industrial Park and in the prison. From 19 to 24 January, the picture of Don Bosco will visit the prison, where educational activities and a football tournament will take place, as well as Mass with the prisoners. During the last week of January, from 28 to 30, there will be a series of three days of prayer in the parishes of the neighbourhood. On 31 January, the feast of St John Bosco, a solemn Mass will be celebrated in honour of the founder of the Salesians at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Córdoba.
