(ANS – Madrid) – From 5 to 8 February, a meeting of about twenty young Salesians in their quinquennium was held at the Don Bosco House in Madrid, attended by the two Superiors of the Salesian provinces of Spain: Fr Fernando Miranda, Mary Help of Christians (SMX) and Fr Fernando García, St James the Greater (SSM). The joy of being together marked the beginning of a weekend centred on Christ from the outset, with a moment of adoration and goodnight. Fraternity was one of the cornerstones of the meeting, with moments of sharing in a family atmosphere. A first presentation, given by Fr Koldo Gutiérrez, focused on what the Congregation proposes, how the quinquennium fits into the Ratio and, above all, how all this is lived in everyday reality. The contribution of Fr Pascual Chávez, Rector Major Emeritus, helped to broaden the perspective, placing his own personal experience, reflected upon earlier, within the current challenges of formation in Europe today, with an emphasis on religious life. The highlight was the meeting and open and fraternal dialogue with the Provincials, during which the participants sincerely shared their hopes, fears and dreams. The meeting ended on Sunday with a Lectio Divina, led by Fr Juan José Bartolomé, and the final Eucharist, experienced as a genuine thanksgiving for what had been lived.
