(ANS – Ljubljana) – On 30 January 2026 in Rakovnik, Fr Alojzij Slavko Snoj, SDB, presented the 19th volume of the Biographical Memoirs of St John Bosco, subtitled ‘The Glorification’, translated into Slovenian. He understands very well what needs to be done in the canonisation process, having spent the last ten years as Vice-Postulator researching and preparing documentation on the life, virtues and reputation for holiness of the Servant of God Andrej Majcen. ‘The encounter between these two saints, Don Bosco and Fr Majcen, has been a source of inexhaustible strength for the translator in the Holy Year 2025; may it also be a source of happy inspiration for you, who are reading this volume,’ he wrote in the introduction. ‘The current 19th volume and the previous volumes represent an excellent opportunity to truly know, understand and imitate Don Bosco in the context of contemporary society. I believe that the efforts of many Salesians in translating and editing Don Bosco’s Biographical Memoirs will bear wonderful and rich fruit for our province and our young people,” wrote the Provncial, Fr Peter Končan, SDB, in the introduction. In addition to the popular biographical texts on Salesian holiness, two volumes by Fr Pietro Braido, Don Bosco, priest of young people in the century of freedoms, have been published in Slovenian. The first volume of Don Bosco – history and spirit by Fr Arthur J. Lenti is also in preparation.
