(ANS – Lisbon) – An audience of around 500 people attended the “Olívias” Short Film Festival organised by the Salesians’ Visual Arts Course in Lisbon. The festival took place once again at El Corte Inglés. Now in its sixth year, the “Olívias” Short Film Festival has become an event eagerly anticipated by students of the Salesians in Lisbon, as well as their parents and guardians. In addition to students from the Visual Arts Course, the festival involves students from various year groups and teachers in its organisation. On 18 March 2026, in one of the cinemas at El Corte Inglés in Lisbon, the six films in competition were screened: “Rei do Churrasco”, “Silêncio”, “Requiem”, “Sala de Espera”, “A Lista” and “Hora do Chá”. The session was hosted by several students, who introduced the films and their creators. For the award ceremony, the students were joined on stage by presenter Catarina Furtado and jury member Renato Godinho, an actor and director, who commented on the various films presented. The jury, composed of various experts, awarded the Best Editing Prize to “Hora do Chá”, by Francisca Dantas, Joana Santos, Marta Cavaco and Mateus Maia; the Best Screenplay Award to the film “A Lista”, by Clara Moreira; and the Best Film and Best Cinematography Awards to “Requiem”, by Maria Alves, Mariana Fonseca, Marina Dias and Yolanda Barros. The Family Award was presented this year to Fr João Chaves, former Rector of the Salesians in Lisbon.
