(ANS – Ragusa) – A formation session entitled “Trust online: who’s real, who’s fake and who’s ‘scamming’ you”, promoted as part of the “Sharing dreams to grow together” project, took place with a large turnout at the Salesian Oratory in Ragusa. The initiative was organised by the Salesian Oratory, in collaboration with the Educational Pastoral Community of the organisation and various local groups, including the ‘Aspettando lo Smartphone – Digital Pacts Ragusa’ group, the Youth Council and Ragusa City Council. The evening proved to be not only an opportunity to explore the topic of cybersecurity in depth, but also a significant occasion for dialogue and inter-generational exchange. The keynote speaker was Giovanni Mandalà, who works at the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) and led the discussion on the risks and opportunities of the digital world. Particular attention was paid to the issue of cybersecurity, which today affects all age groups, from young people to the elderly, the latter often being more vulnerable to online scams. During the meeting, it emerged that contemporary society is now deeply permeated by AI, a tool increasingly present in daily life. A reality that offers opportunities but also requires awareness, continuous updating and critical thinking to recognise the risks.
